Life rundown
2000-2005
Born and raised in Burnaby, BC (a suburb of Vancouver). 2005-2013
Elementary school (aka peak). Nothing much to report. Had an early growth spurt and started swimming competitively. 2013-2018
Private school until Grade 10, public school to Grade 12. Quit swimming and started gym to “bulk up.” Managed to gain 50 lbs in 3 months, but blew out my knees. 2019
Started at SFU. Tried Psychology, Criminology, Kinesiology. Felt lost on what to do, so I started swimming again. 2020
Transferred to UVIC and joined the swim team. Memories include ~11 practices/week, 7,000+ daily calories, and Zoom classes (which I skipped). 2021
Dropped out to try to go pro in swimming. Taught myself code, design, UI/UX, marketing, and content on the side and realized I could learn anything online. 2022
Quit swimming (again). Redirected that obsessiveness to learning AI. Started by tweeting my learnings, got lucky, and went viral when ChatGPT exploded in November. 2023
Started The Rundown and hit 250k subs organically. Twitter hit 1B+ views and 500K+ followers. Hired my first team, learned painful business lessons, turned the newsletter into a real business. 2024
Scaled The Rundown to 820k subs while staying bootstrapped. Launched AI University (my first EdTech product). Landed my first interview (ever) with Mark Zuckerberg. 2025
